January TBWF Highlights

We are supporting 150 students and their families every week.

Eagle Academy and Savoy Elementary are weekly commitments – and we kept the pantry at Friendship SE Academy fully stocked.

Two Murch Elementary families (our kids’ school) were added to our commitment schedule -- we will provide groceries twice a week for students to carry home.

We rescued and distributed $11,500 worth of food with the help of PlusOne and Food Rescue DC!

Thanks to a grant from The Starfish Foundation and an anonymous donor, we purchased 2 beautiful and cold refrigerators – we named them Thing1 and Thing2. Their first job is to care for the 2,952 eggs we rescued last week.

Connected with Africa Access who would like to provide educational books to the students we serve. More on that soon.

Thank you! Fighting childhood hunger in Washington DC is a community effort.
